This exceptional brass inlayed bowl is handcrafted through a meticulous process of hand carving and pigment placement. Each portion of the bowl is engraved to form a beautiful flower design. Each section needs to be carved out and each color is carefully applied one at a time. Once a single color is applied the bowl must then be baked on the fire in a painstakingly slow and watchful manner. The enamel colors are delicate and could burn under high temperatures completely destroying the work. It is important that the colors are careful separated otherwise the runoff will change the pattern scheme. No electrical machines are used in the creation of this piece as they lend to the delicate brass cracking under the vibration. This piece could be hung on a wall or placed on the center of a table. This particular work was created by the artist Sudheer Sharma in his studio in New Delhi, Delhi.
